Interesting facts- Parsley has an association with death. The ancient Greeks were of the opinion that parsley came from the blood of Ophelets, whose name means forerunner of death. Presenting winners at "funeral games" and athletic games with parsley crowns in honour of the deceased. In need of parsley, the saying meant that someone was so ill that they were expected to die.

Nutmeg and parsley both hold the myristicin compound.
