What's in a name?
The name “Camelēr” (cameleer) is the person who drives or rides the camel. It is the merchant who brought the spices and other thrifts between continents. The “M” in our logo signifies a camels movement and their humps uniqueness with sharp serifs influenced by fonts created during the enlightenment period over the 17th and 18th centuries. The line over the ē called a “macron” marks the Latin way a long vowel (ee) sounds.
This is where our story of Camelēr Spice Cº begins.
Over 4,000 years ago, a little before our time, Arabian spice merchants were the first to understand the value of adding a little flavour and the holistic nature of spice blends. Along the Incense Route, merchants brought these goods on camel caravans, notably the sturdy Bactrian camel. These caravans of cameleers followed inhospitable routes to deliver the coveted spices to market. All these millenniums later, we are living in a new world where plenty has changed but our appetite for exotic spices remains the same.
As we write this, it is apparent that we are all cooking more from home and travelling less, albeit nothing stays the same for long. Many of us are looking to explore flavours when it comes to cooking, baking and cocktail making.

As a human-centric brand, we are devoted to sharing the learnings that the cameleers have picked up on their journey across the globe. We offer our understanding of why it is important to know the source of ingredients, with satisfaction continually being nurtured and earned.
Our endeavour to focus on the enjoyment of the journey that we hope you will be on with us. A little like the cameleer as they drive the camel arriving at the depot with their thrift safe and sound. For us, the celebration is about our community, culture, our collective journey and courage.

Great friends and foremost business partners. We started working together on a project in 2019. Realising from the offset, our values and interests were aligned we decided to direct our passion on setting up Camelēr Spice Cº.
Hi, I'm Halle!
I'm a British-Saudi Arabian marketeer, scientist and chef alumni from Leiths School of Food and Wine. I have an infinite passion for spice alchemy and I'm the co-founder and the master spice blend developer.
A passionate interest for spices that stems from my grandmother. By the age of eight, I was taught the art of selecting and grinding spices, preparing them within a broad range of meals, and enjoying the satisfaction of seeing family and friends devour them. I have spent a lot of time researching and developing our current portfolio of blends. It's not often realised that many blends have various nuances due to the region or even the household they come from. Our blends catalogue, built on science and history is carefully coordinated for versatility in a host of different dishes and drinks. I simply cannot wait to start sharing these with you.
From the offset, I have wanted to curate something special, made with consideration and passion. I want to build a brand that we can be proud of and that you can be part of.
Hi, I'm Myles !
I'm an Irish National. Being the son of a chef, I’ve always been passionate about creating new dishes from my travels around the globe. I am the co-founder and the master business engineer. Most recently I worked with the world’s largest and leading aluminium company Norsk Hydro as a Marketing and Customer Services Director.
My passion lies in sustainability, innovation and vision. At the beginning of this adventure, there were many boxes we wanted to tick. I wanted us to have a premium product that gave added value. I wanted a product that was dynamic with multipurpose use, with a supply chain that understands our vision.
My goal is to constantly evolve as a business, methodically pushing boundaries.
In my mind, as a business owner, we must listen to our audience to stay agile and maintain growth. As much as we are here to be transparent and share our knowledge with you through our ingredients index, we are also here to learn, so that we can grow and celebrate the best brand possible.
As purveyors, our mission is to introduce you to authentically-inspired artisan creations made by hand with a holistic approach and a little bit of fuss.
Being highly spirited individuals, we are thrilled to take you on a journey like the Camelēr's did all those millenniums ago.
